Q: I’m taking phentermine 35 mg, 1/2 tablet per day. I have been taking this for 4 months and have lost 34 pounds. I have also done a total lifestyle change in the way I eat and exercise. Does the drug become less effective the longer you take it? It seems like there is a difference in the way it is working now compared to when I started taking it. Also, I know it is not a long-term solution. That is why I made the lifestyle change so when I do stop taking it I can continue with the weight loss. Also, my family physician is closely monitoring me when on this medicine.
I have a question. I am on day six of phentermine and I am feeling very hungry. I don’t think it is mentally hungry. I am having hunger pangs where my stomach growls and burns in a way. I am using the weight loss app Lose It and it said that based on my weight and height that I should eat 2,145 calories a day to lose 2 pounds a week. That is what I am doing and I am having no trouble eating that many calories. I am feeling discouraged that I am not feeling much appetite suppression. Do you have any suggestions?

However, the second Phentermine dose must be taken no later than 6-8 hours before bedtime. The application of Phentermine right before sleep may cause sleeplessness. In most cases, one pill of Phentermine taken before breakfast reduces the appetite for the whole day. So, to feel fullness a person needs just a small meal.
Still, patients who take phentermine must be screened, because the drug can intensify existing heart problems and it can be abused by people with eating disorders. Users often develop a tolerance and require higher doses. It is approved only for short-term use in obese patients, in conjunction with a plan that includes exercise and a healthy diet.
The introduction of Dexfen-Phen reinvigorated the market, and it was thought to be even better than Fen-Phen when it came to fighting obesity. Just like the fenfluramine and phentermine combine, Dexfen-Phen was not intensively tested for safety. The company’s focus at this time was to ensure that the FDA would approve its new product before the patent on fenfluramine ran out. As such, it was not highly preoccupied with the adverse effects of dexfenfluramine on the people who consumed it.
I first started phentermine back in 2009 & I lost a total of 80 pounds in 5 months with diet & exercise, but I started to have bothersome side effects like lack of sleep, sleep paralysis, agitation. I began taking adipex on January 14th of this year. As of today I have lost 40 lbs. I totally changed everything overnight. I am 36 and when I went into the doctors office for just a check up I tipped the scales at 286 lbs. The nurse asked if I have ever thought about dieting and asked what my present diet consist of. Which was basically whatever I wanted I ate. Then my doctor said he had some good feedback on this medication. My dad is diabetic and the rate I was going I’m sure I’d be heading that way too. So I figured now is the time to do this for myself and my family. After the first month I lost 20 lbs. I went down to about 1500 calories a day mostly protein. No carbs. The doctor was impressed. Blood pressure was perfect when it has always been high. About a week after taking it, I started going to the gym 4-5 days a week and really hitting it hard. I’ve built my endurance up and really am starting to feel like a teenager again. I lost 20 lbs in the second month going on the third. Under Ohio law you can only be on this for 3 months then off for 6. I can tell you that after 3 months I believe it’s all will power. I would like to loose 40 more pounds to be at my target weight.

Q: My doctor prescribed diet pills when I have high blood pressure and Grave’s disease. One day I stopped breathing and they had to do CPR and use the paddles on me. At the hospital, they told my family that my heart was healthy, and that it was most likely the diet pills that the doctor had prescribed to me (phentermine). Do I have any recourse that I can take? Even if it was just to pay all my hospital bills, I had to have a pacemaker put in and can’t drive for 6 months.
I absolutely loved Phentermine. The first week I took it in half doses. The 37.5 tab broke in half — one half in the morning, one half at lunch time. I had energy to the moon. I cleaned like I was going to have a health inspection. I lost weight for 5 months. I also lost my own sanity… my mindfulness. I was so easy to anger, could not be pleased, everyone made me angry, nagging, hurtful, rude, nights of no sleep or sleep maybe a few hours.

Insulin or other antidiabetic medication requirements may be altered in these patients when using phentermine during weight loss and due to altered dietary regimens. Phentermine is a type of medication used in weight loss programs. The medication is intended to suppress the appetite, thus helping patients lose unwanted pounds faster. However, Phentermine is also a central nervous stimulant. As a result, the medication will increase the heart rate and the blood pressure of the patient. This medication also helps people becoming more alert, so this is why some people use it as a recreational drug while others become addicted to it because of its “amphetamine” composition.
I’ve been taking Phentermine about a week. I have definitely noticed a huge decrease in my appetite. In fact, sometimes I have to remind myself to eat because I can go all day and not feel hungry. I have not noticed a huge change in energy levels, but I was always super energetic and active anyways. The only side effects I have experienced is a little bit of dry mouth and a really bad taste in my mouth. It’s really irritating because I can’t figure out how to make it go away. Gum kind of helps but it’s still there. Other than that, I’m really happy with it. Haven’t got on the scale yet but I can tell I’ve lost weight by how my clothes are fitting!

Dyspnea, which refers to labored or difficult breathing, is typically the initial symptom of PPH. These elements all cause a decrease in weight. When your appetite is restrained you eat less. When you eat less you take in lesser calories. When your metabolic rate is high and you are energetic you burn up whatever calories are in your body. Burning or consuming calories prevents them from being saved as fats in your body. No saved fats suggests no rise in weight. In the long run your restrained appetite, increased energy and high metabolic rate will result to you losing weight.
I started on Phentermine on June 5th 2017. I went to a metabolic doctor with my husband who is also overweight. It was determined that I was 67 pounds over my ideal weight. My doctor ordered a large amount of blood work. 28 tests to be exact and some of them were panels. So he checked for nearly everything. Nearly all test came back good except low estrogen and some numbers were close to being considered off. He told me about a combination of supplements that should boost my estrogen levels since they were only a bit low, which the supplements did work after being on them for two months. It gave me back my sex drive as well.
