According to the manufactures of phentermine capsules and tablets, its products are contraindicated in patients with cardiac disease, advanced arteriosclerosis, moderate to severe hypertension, agitated states, or glaucoma.7 Likewise, orally disintegrating tablets, are contraindicated in patients with a history of cardiac disease including coronary artery disease, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and uncontrolled hypertension.6 Valvular heart disease has been reported in women receiving the combination of fenfluramine and phentermine; the safety and efficacy of combination therapy with phentermine and any other drug products for weight loss, including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (e.g., fluoxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, paroxetine), have not been established. Therefore, coadministration of these drug products for weight loss is not recommended. Further, primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH) has been reported to occur in patients receiving a combination of phentermine with fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine. The possibility of an association between the use of phentermine alone and PPH or valvular heart disease cannot be ruled out. The initial symptom of PPH is usually dyspnea. Other initial symptoms include: angina pectoris, syncope, or lower extremity edema. Patients should be advised to report immediately any deterioration in exercise tolerance. Treatment should be discontinued in patients who develop new, unexplained symptoms of dyspnea, angina pectoris, syncope, or lower extremity edema.
I was on phentermine a few years ago and it was amazing – I had energy, lost weight and kept it off until I became pregnant with my daughter. She is over a year old now so I was prescribed it again. I work out, maintain my calorie intake but have not lost any weight – is it possible that it isn’t working?

I started taking phentermine around 9 weeks ago and I’ve lost 1 stone and 9lbs. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. I’ve attempted alsorts of diets. Shakes, detox teas, fasting, healthy eating.. you name it, I’ve tried it… and phentermine is the only thing that has worked for me. I’m rarely hungry and if I do feel peckish I always go for fruit or water. It’s honestly changed my life. Just want to lose another 1 stone 5lbs and i’ll be happy!
Laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., blood pressure, heart tests, kidney tests) may be performed periodically to monitor your progress or check for side effects. Consult your doctor for more details.
I have been taking Phentermine for a couple of years now. I have actually gained weight on this pill… Up to 7 pounds in less than 1 month. I used to weigh around 120-125 before my hysterectomy. Afterwards I jumped up to 140-145 and I am now around 158-160… Still taking pills and no big losses. I did lose 5 lbs in 1 month. I just can’t seem to get the weight off. I do not overeat… I am on the move all day at work and was walking every day until weather got bad. I don’t know what to do. My!!!❤ Also wrote my prescription for my pills wrong last time and if the pharmacist hadn’t caught it and I was following the dosage I would be dead. He wrote it for 5 pills 3 times a day. That would have killed a horse I’m sure… The office just said “Oh well… We corrected it.” WTF???

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any of the following symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

However, the rails began to fall off as this wonder combination was found to have induced negative side effects in its users. The Mayo Clinic findings of 1996-97 were a game changer for Fen-Phen and Dexfen-Phen. In 1997, the authors of a report published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) suggested a link between sustained use of these anorectic agents and mitral valve dysfunction, which is basically a heart valve disease. The paper estimated that in 1996 the Fen-Phen combination had been prescribed to nearly 20 million people. A 30-year-old woman, who had been using the Fen-Phen for a month, developed heart complications in 1996 and passed away shortly after. The Boston Herald published a front page article in her memory in the aftermath of her death in February 1997, lambasting the drugs responsible for her death.
Route-Specific Pharmacokinetics: Oral Route: Following oral administration, most absorption of phentermine occurs from the small intestine. The duration of action following administration of the 8 mg capsules or tablets is about 4 hours and 12—14 hours after administration of the 30 mg capsules or the 37.5 mg tablets.

Tolerance to the anorexiant effects of phentermine usually develops within a few weeks of starting therapy. The mechanism of tolerance appears to be pharmacodynamic in nature; higher doses of phentermine are required to produce the same response. When tolerance develops to the anorexiant effects, it is generally recommended that phentermine be discontinued rather than the dose increased.

For Weight Loss: “At 66 years of age I developed some health issues and ended up on 16 meds. Clinically depressed I turned to food to help me feel better. My weight went from 179lb to 217lb over a twelve month period. My PCP offered to put me on Phentermine x 3 months. Combined with a healthy diet ( I do weight watchers) and some mild exercise. It’s only been 2.5 months and I have lost a total of 30lbs. Healthy eating has been crucial as well so I am eating more leafy green vegetables and cooking stir fry for my wife and I. At the end of 3 months if my BMI is low enough my PCP will take me off of 4 medications I am taking for BP and Cholesterol etc. Antonio”
It is important to keep in mind that you should not use Phentermine if you are pregnant or still breastfeeding. In addition, individuals who are known to have a history of heart disease should rule Phentermine out.
Q: I’m taking phentermine 35 mg, 1/2 tablet per day. I have been taking this for 4 months and have lost 34 pounds. I have also done a total lifestyle change in the way I eat and exercise. Does the drug become less effective the longer you take it? It seems like there is a difference in the way it is working now compared to when I started taking it. Also, I know it is not a long-term solution. That is why I made the lifestyle change so when I do stop taking it I can continue with the weight loss. Also, my family physician is closely monitoring me when on this medicine.
Physical and psychological dependence may occur with the long-term use of phentermine. A withdrawal reaction, which includes excessive drowsiness, fatigue, tremors and depression may occur after prolonged use.
Hi Natacha! A possible increase in blood pressure is a side effect of phentermine, which is one of the reasons that it is only available on prescription following the recommendation of a doctor. If this is something you are worried about yet you would still like to benefit from appetite suppression and an energy boost, then we would recommend that you try Phen Caps, the leading phentermine alternative. Phen Caps don’t contain phentermine and they have no side effects, and as they don’t contain phentermine you don’t need a prescription for them and you can take them for as long as you need to reach your goal weight without having to worry about blood pressure and other effects. Here is an article about them so that you can find out more: https://www.phentermine.com/blog/phen-caps-work/?utm_source=phentermine-blog&utm_medium=reply&utm_campaign=phentermine-blog
By elevating these catecholamines, experts hypothesize that the drug may have an impact on the brain’s leptin levels. Phentermine is believed to raise the brain’s leptin levels. The elevation of catecholamines is also believed to halt the chemical messenger neuropeptide Y, a peptide responsible for increasing hunger and fat storage.
a critical and increasingly common dilemma faced by leadership today: how do we energize, support and collaborate within virtual teams? Yael combined several handouts, interactive discussion, and different media platforms to keep us engaged, all during an ever-challenging late afternoon slot. I felt a renewed sense of curiosity and enthusiasm after the presentation, and was able to share some of what I learned with both my class and peers within my organization after returning back to Maine. Yael is a great mentor within this field, and I look forward to working with her more in the future.
People who engage in potentially dangerous activities on a daily basis such as operating heavy machinery must take extra caution. As phentermine has the ability to mess with the body’s motor functions and disrupt heartbeat, such patients must take care to followed a personalized, physician-approved plan before consuming phentermine on a regular basis.

The risks of fen-phen, of course, didn’t become apparent until after the drug was on the market. The FDA belatedly estimated up to a third of patients using fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine developed heart valve damage. Fenfluramine was subsequently withdrawn from the market in 1997. Phentermine is only approved for short-term weight loss.
“I know that some of you are afraid that the clinicians will combine [Belviq] with phentermine,” Dr. Ed Hendricks, a weight loss physician, and a member of the FDA advisory panel that approved Belviq, told the panel in May. “You have to remember that the motivation behind developing this drug was developing a replacement for fenfluramine that was safe.”

Vivius Qsymia is another type of Phentermine that is becoming quite popular. The most popular dosage of this medication is 7.5 mg of Topiramate and 46 mg of Phentermine. The old name for this is Qnexa, making Vivus Qsymia a relatively new addition to the diet pill genre. It is similar to the previous drug that received approval from the FDA back in 2012. It is meant to provide noticeable weight loss benefits that exceed those offered by other medications currently available on the market. Because it is so effective, the price tag is usually much higher than other such diet pills containing Phentermine. You can expect to pay roughly $300-$500 for a one month supply. In return, Vivius Qsymia will provide users with superior appetite suppression and give them much more energy when compared with other products that contain Phentermine. Read More…

Despite the fact that phentermine in its current forms has no minimum administration period, the medication should ideally not be taken for more than 12-16 weeks at a stretch as it can lead to serious long-term consequences if it’s present in the body for a lengthy period of time. When you are using phentermine, make sure that you store the drug at room temperature. Keeping it away from heat and moisture is of utmost importance.
You will of course still need to eat food and take in liquids, but you will not have the urge and will not want to eat as much as you once did. Due to you eating less you ill then start to lose weight.
There are quite a few brand name offerings and phentermine equivalents on the market each with slight differences such as phentermine dosage and content. Common brand name equivalents include Adipex-P, Fastin, Lomaira, Ionamin, Qsymia and Zantryl which are all predominantly prescription phentermine based medications.
In the 1990s, phentermine was used as one half of the combination treatment known as fen-phen, the weight-loss sensation that was later discovered to cause heart-valve problems in some patients. The other two drugs commonly used in the treatment, fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine, were withdrawn from the marke t. Phentermine, which was not linked to the heart problem, was allowed to remain available.
It is of course very important that you understand fully just what type and classification of drug you may be thinking of taking and using and therefore I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Phentermine is a psychostimulant drug and is in the amphetamine chemical class so has a pharmacology identical to that of an amphetamine.
Important information about your drugs should be reviewed prior to taking any prescription drug. Side effects, drug interactions, warnings and precauctions, dosage, what the drug is used for, what to do if you miss a dose, how the drug is to be stored, and generic vs. brand names.
A: According to the prescribing information for phentermine, sweating was not a reported side effect of the medication. Some of the side effects of phentermine include overstimulation, restlessness, insomnia, dizziness, euphoria, diarrhea, unpleasant taste, constipation, changes in libido, tremor and headache. This is not a complete list of side effects associated with phentermine. If you think you are experiencing a side effect from the medication, please consult with your health care provider for proper evaluation. According to the prescribing information, phentermine is indicated for short term use (a few weeks) as an adjunct therapy to diet, exercise, and behavioral modification to help lose weight. Phentermine works by decreasing a person’s appetite. Phentermine should not be used in people with severe high blood pressure, glaucoma, or a history of drug abuse. Phentermine should also not be used in people in agitated states or during, or within 14 days following, therapy with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI). Administration of phentermine and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) given together for weight loss is not recommended. Some patients who had received phentermine and fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine were found to have Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) or valvular heart disease. PPH is a rare, but fatal lung disease. According to the prescribing information for phentermine, the possibility of PPH or valvular heart disease occurring with phentermine use alone cannot be ruled out. A person may become tolerant to the decreased appetite effect of phentermine within a few weeks. The recommended dose should not be exceeded to overcome this effect, the drug is usually discontinued. Phentermine may impair the ability of a person to operate heavy machinery or drive a car. Phentermine and alcohol use may result in an adverse drug reaction. Phentermine should be used with caution in those with even mild high blood pressure. Phentermine, along with a dietary regimen, may alter insulin requirements. For more specific information, consult with your doctor or pharmacist for guidance based on your health status and current medications, particularly before taking any action. Kristen Dore, PharmD

  2. This medication may cause withdrawal reactions, especially if it has been used regularly for a long time or in high doses. In such cases, withdrawal symptoms (such as depression, severe tiredness) may occur if you suddenly stop using this medication. To prevent withdrawal reactions, your doctor may reduce your dose gradually. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details, and report any withdrawal reactions right away.
A: Phentermine (Adipex P) is classified as an anorexiant and a sympathomimetic medication. Phentermine is approved for the short term treatment (few weeks) of obesity. Phentermine is a stimulant and works in the body to suppress the appetite. Phentermine, like any medication has possible risks, warnings and side effects associated with its use. The medication is contraindicated (should not be used) in patients that have advanced arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, moderate to severe high blood pressure, pulmonary hypertension, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, agitated states, history of drug abuse or in patients that are either taking or have taken in the past fourteen days a MAO inhibitor medication. The following are warnings and precautions associated with the use of phentermine. Central Nervous System effects: Medication may impair the ability to perform in hazardous activities Primary pulmonary hypertension: This rare but often fatal condition of the lungs has been reported in patients that have taken phentermine along with fenfluramine (Pondimin) or dexfenfluramine (Redux). However, the risk of primary pulmonary hypertension can not be ruled out with using phentermine alone. Valvular heart disease: The medication has been associated with the development of valvular heart disease. The recommendation is that patients that have serious structural cardiac abnormalities, cardiomyopathy, serious heart rhythm abnormalities, or any other serious heart problems should not use the medication. The following is a list of the possible side effects associated with the use of phentermine: high blood pressure, palpitation, primary pulmonary hypertension, cardiac valvular disease, tachycardia (fast heart beat), dizziness, dysphoria (unpleasant or uncomfortable mood), euphoria, headache, insomnia, overstimulation, psychosis, restlessness, urticaria (hives), changes in libido, constipation, diarrhea, unpleasant taste, xerostomia (dry mouth), impotence and tremor. This is not a complete list of all the adverse effects, risks and warnings associated with the use of phentermine. The recommendation is to talk to your physician regarding the questions and concerns you have regarding phentermine. When selecting a specific medication to treat a medical condition, there are many variables involved with this decision such as the patient’s condition, other medical conditions the patient has, other medications the patient is taking, any drug allergies the patient has, etc. Your health care provider has access to your medical information and is best able to make the decision if phentermine is appropriate for you. 3. Seems there are mixed reviews about this pill. But what seems to be consist is that of what I went through only after a 4 day use. My weight loss goal was only 12 pounds away from that hotlink cocktail dress winking at you on a hanger in a closet. Although this could have been achieved with exercise and proper eating, exercising seemed to be least of my worries as I would work out at least 3 days a week with a min. 1000 calorie burn. However it was the proper eating part is where I fell short. My appetite had more in mind than losing weight. I could not put the food down no matter how hard I tried and I got no better with age. Phentermine was considered during a visit to a weight loss clinic as a stronger dose from the others. I went with it in hopes to shed some quick pounds in conjunction with my 3 day workouts. To my surprise unexpected negative side effects starting taking effect immediately.
greatly enhance the engagement of the international teams I am a part of and lead. Our discussions and her guidance provide the insight which allowed me to place a more appropriate emphasis on the means of soliciting feedback. I realized the importance of treating those I should get constructive feedback from as “customers”. Doing so is helping me frame my discussions and non-verbal aspects of meetings in a way that puts more emphasis and value on “them” and less on the process or me. The results: More effective feedback, more constructive input and higher engagement from everyone involved.

I\’ve read your page on what to do when this happens, seem like the only thing I\’d be missing would be the Phen Caps however, they\’re not sold in my country.

I have taken this drug off and on for two years. I lost about 30 lbs a year ago. Once I stopped it, the weight came back. Recently I began taking it again. This time I had quite a scare at work one day, I almost had a stroke. My B.P. skyrocketed. It scared me, so now I take only half a pill along with a blood pressure med. So far, so good, but if it goes up again, I will stop it altogether. It is something that really works, but isn’t the best med as far as safety. Be very careful.

  4. The most important ingredient in Fenfast 375 is DL-phenylalanine a trademarked exclusive formula for weight reduction. This constituent is made to boost your fat burning capacity, meaning that you will be able to lose calories more quickly. The improved metabolic process also means heat production in your body. This will translate to the use of fats within your body. The item also consists of additional fat-busting ingredients, for instance, ccaffeine anhydrous and hordenine HCl. These will improve the functions of the DL-phenylalanine. Read Full review here of fenfast 375
This problem was solved by the introduction of Redux to the market. American Home Products and its subsidiaries developed a brand new version of fenfluramine, which happened to be known as dexfenfluramine. The FDA was particularly wary about this new weight loss drug, but it approved the drug in 1996 after intensive debates about its potentially harmful effects.

  5. Adding to the concern is the fact that many doctors have an incentive to recommend it: Phentermine is a mainstay of weight-loss clinics nationwide, prescribed by physicians who profit by selling the pill to patients. Fans of the drug trade tips on social media sites and websites like phentermine.com, where users refer to each other as “phrends” and share the names of doctors who will prescribe it with few questions asked.
Arena’s stock price has more than quadrupled in the last two months based on rising expectations that the drug would be approved, and some analysts are predicting that Belviq could bring in a billion dollars a year. So, why all the excitement over a drug that produces less weight loss than a good behavior-modification program?

A: We are truly sorry for your experience. There is a possibility that the medication may have exacerbated an existing condition or heart valve problem. Phenterrmine is similar to an amphetamine and should be prescribed with care, however it is impossible to know how anyone will react with it. With this information, it is important to stay away from stimulants of any kind, including ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, excess caffeine, and other herbal stimulants. It is not our place to conclude any wrong doing by the physician or the drug manufacturer. However, I do recommend that you share your story in online patient forums. You may save someone’s life. They help in suppressing your hunger, burning the extra fat in your body and in enhancing your energy levels. You can lose weight without going for a strict diet and strenuous exercise program. They are over the counter diet pills comparable to phentermine pills but are not as strong as Phentermine. They contain the important ingredients needed for weight loss. They are effective but not dangerous. They can be used for a longer duration.
Phentermine was also used in tandem with dexfenfluramine, the Dexfen-Phen combination. Dexfenfluramine was approved by the FDA in 1996 as an appetite suppressant and its union with phentermine became an overnight sensation.
Phentermine can be best described as a psychostimulant drug, and regarding its drug classification, it is in the amphetamine chemical class, and as such you will find it is therefore has a pharmacology identical to that of an amphetamine.

I’ve been taking ** for 21 days and all it has done is give me a severe bloated stomach. I have lost 4 lbs but it has not curbed my hunger at all. I exercise 4 days a week. Only experienced dry mouth a few days which I guess is good. I have not had the energy boost that others mention. I will finish my 30 day rx but will not waste my money on a refill. It may work for others but not for me and I cannot recommend it.

I have spent the past few days reading reviews on my phone and by no means am I trying to belittle anyone but in all the negative reviews in which people cannot sleep and are having psychotic episodes and depression and then gain all the weight back…none of these reviewers mention that they are eating a balanced diet with more vegetables and drinking more water than they have in their life. It’s 2016 and the internet is imploding with health information and I have a hard time believing anyone overweight hasn’t taken the time to educate themselves on what it takes to exchange bad habits that cause weight gain for good habits that promote health.
I’m 33, 5’1, 224lbs female. I started taking 30mg 3.5 weeks ago. My first week went great. I wasn’t hungry and I lost a few lbs. the second week I didn’t feel like I was as eating much but gained back 1lb. So for the last 10 days I have been logging all my calories in an app and staying around 1200 unless I earn more by working out. I went in for a follow up today and was down to 212. So down 12lbs in less than a month! I have experienced dry mouth but it’s not terrible. I try to keep water with me at all times and that helps. I know some people have said they get headaches and feel jittery, I haven’t had either issue but my dr did warn me to stay away from caffeine because that will contribute jitters and she said to make sure I am eating or I will wake up with a hunger headache when the meds have worn off. I realize this is a life style change and so I’m hoping keeping track or calories will continue even after I stop the medication. I recommend it to anyone that feels like they need help

I started taking 30mg Phentermine on October 25th, 2016. I felt great, didn’t have any negative side effects, nothing that would make me decide to stop taking the pills. I lost about 10 pounds in a little over a month. I went to my doctor again on 11/29/16 and she upped my dosage to 37.5mg. Last night I had shaky hands and boy, is the dry mouth bad! On 12/1/16 I had a presentation and my mouth was so dry I had trouble speaking. I drink a lot of diet juice and water so I’m not dehydrated. I’m not feeling any of the other bad side effects like anxiety. I am down 15 pounds though, after completely changing my diet and eating between 1100-1500 calories per day. I try to exercise when I can but with college, a social life and a boyfriend, it’s hard.
